About the Chef
Kathy Dederich founded Chef, Please! in 2007 after providing personal chef services on an occasional, part-time basis for friends and acquaintances. Chef Kathy lives in Grayslake, Illinois and travels throughout Chicagoland and Southeastern Wisconsin to provide her personal chef services to an ever expanding clientele.
She started cooking and baking at a young age with her mother as her instructor and mentor. After spending more than twenty years owning and running another business, Kathy decided to pursue her love of cooking and go to school. She received her formal culinary education at The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago, a part of the famous Le Cordon Bleu Program.
During the course of her travels, Kathy has had the opportunity to attend cooking schools in both Florence, Italy and Bangkok, Thailand. Whatever type of cuisine you most enjoy, Kathy will refer to her extensive library of cookbooks and personal recipes to find that special dish to please your palette.
